Gerald Miller is thrilled to offer a $2,500 scholarship to support law students who aspire to become criminal defense lawyers and open their own law firm after graduation. The Aspiring Criminal Defense Lawyer Law Student Scholarship is designed to provide financial assistance and empower future legal professionals to overcome challenges they may encounter during their studies.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the Gerald Miller Aspiring Criminal Defense Lawyer Law Student Scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must be enrolled, or enrolling, as a full-time student in an accredited law college or university in the United States
- Must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA
- Must be pursuing a law-related degree
- Must have a clear vision of opening their own firm or solo law office after graduation
- Must comply with IRS rules to qualify for the TAX-FREE benefits of the scholarship
- Employees and affiliates of Gerald Miller are not eligible
Application Requirements
To apply for this scholarship, applicants must provide the following:
- Full name
- Phone number
- Address
- Social media handles
- An 800+ word essay explaining their passion for becoming a criminal defense lawyer, their expectations regarding challenges they might face, and how this scholarship will empower them to achieve their goals.
- A current college or graduate school transcript or, if not already enrolled, their acceptance letter to a college or graduate school.
Key Dates
All applications must be submitted by August 31, 2024. Late applications will not be considered.
The scholarship winner will be announced by September 30, 2024.
